Homework is an important part of curriculum implementation.It is an effective extension of classroom teaching.It is an important means for students to consolidate classroom knowledge and practice corresponding skills,and is the main way for teachers to obtain teaching feedback.English homework is no exception.But how to look at English homework is a matter of wisdom.In the process of teaching English in primary school,the author has caused a lot of confusion in the face of the phenomenon that English homework is "taken seriously,but the effect is not significant".To find out,the author take Haikou city X primary school of senior grade as an example,and start from various aspects such as the content of the homework,the form of homework,the amount of homework,the way of homework modification,evaluation and feedback,etc.,by combing literature,questionnaires,interviews with teachers,etc.The results of the study show that the basic reasons for the “ the effect is not significant” are that homework are too monotonous,operations are rigid,the amount of homework are heavy,homework approvals are simple,homework evaluation and feedback are not comprehensive enough.The author tried to propose countermeasures with certain operability: homework content can be constructed homework database,operation forms should be more life diversification,homework volume requirements can be controlled within a reasonable range,homework evaluation should be diversified way to correct,enrich evaluation subject,etc.
