On April 5,2016,Joe Biden,former Vice President of USA,delivered a speech at Pittsburgh University around "It's On Us" campaign which was launched by Obama administration in 2014.Biden appealed to every American to fight against women and men sexual assault in the country especially on campus.Apart from him,other politicians and celebrities including Undersecretary of Education,Governor of Pennsylvania,a TV actor,and President of Students Body of Pitts University were also present.This report is a simulated consecutive interpretation from English to Chinese,lasting nearly 4 hours.The report consists of four chapters,including task introduction,process description,and case studies as well as conclusions.Firstly,The author analyzes problems she encountered during the course of consecutive translation.Then,she stresses the idea of that translation is the interpreting which The Interpretive Theory holds.After that,according to interpretive processes of the triangle model,the author puts forward her own interpreting tactics.They are analyzing the context,complementing knowledge,de-verbalization and conveying Tones.Finally,the author makes a conclusion,hoping to find more ways to improve the quality of interpreting to facilitate communications between speakers and listeners.
