vagueness of academic innovation, disorder in academic logic, disunity of academic terms and improper methods in rendering culture-loaded terms. The literature review of abstract translation reveals that previous scholars mainly focused on aspects of grammar, sentence and semantics, while the above-mentioned four phenomena have not yet been paid much attention.Although logical problem has been discussed,it is confined to internal logic of sentences instead of internal logic of abstracts, that is,the logical connection among research background, research problems, existing discoveries and new discoveries by the article. The purpose of abstract translation is to make Chinese academic researches known in the English world and build a platform for academic communication from different cultures. However, vagueness of academic innovation makes target readers fail to understand the innovative contribution by Chinese researchers;disorder in academic logic makes target readers fail to understand the relation between previous research and innovation;disunity of academic terms produces confusion in understanding the background information;improper methods in rendering culture-loaded terms also make readers feel confused. In conclusion, all four aspects will lead to unsuccessful academic exchange between China and Western world. Therefore, the author advocates to highlight the academic contribution, foreground the academic logic, integrate plural terms and appropriately render culture-loaded terms. To illustrate better translation quality of academic abstracts by overcoming the above-mentioned deficiencies, the author tries to retranslate abstracts mentioned in this thesis.
