An Interpretation Report On Asia Education Forum Annual Conference 2016

With the globalization and China's reform and open-up strategy to the world,China has played a significant role in international business and trade.In order to promote mutual cooperation and communication,Asia Education Forum Annual Conference 2016 was held in Chengdu.Interpreters play an important bridge role in the communication between foreign institutions and domestic students since it is a foreign exchange conference.During this Education Forum Annual Conference,the author provided language service for staffs of Hobart and William Smith College.The content of interpretation involves the opening ceremony of the conference,school introduction,student questions and answers,etc.The main forms of interpretation are consecutive interpreting and liaison interpreting.This paper is mainly composed of three parts: introduction,body text and conclusion.As the main body of this paper,body text can be subdivided into three parts: the first part aims to introduce the basic information of this annual conference and American liberal Art colleges;the second part introduces the preparation and interpreting principle the author made for this project and the main interpreting process;at the third part,exerting Translator's Subjectivity Theory solves practical problems.Finally,the author concludes that a complete interpretation is inseparable from interpretation preparation,theoretical principle and corresponding interpreting techniques.How the interpreter utilizes interpreting techniques to solve the problems he encountered in the process by the principle of Translator's Subjectivity Theory is the difficulty in this paper.The author hopes that this paper can give some effective opinions on the following aspects: how to finish conference interpreting well and avoid unnecessary mistakes;how to minimize the influence of different accent;the view of the direction of interpretation development;whether interpreting can be replaced by Artificial Intelligence.At the meantime,the author should make some improvements to the questions forwarded above.
