A Practical Report On Interpreting Of Annual Conference Financial Street Forum 2019

Since the 21st century,international exchanges have entered a new historical period,and large international conferences and forums have played an important role in international exchanges.As the platform and tool for communication,international conferences have greatly facilitated global cooperation.Therefore,conference interpreting,as a part of simultaneous interpreting,has high requirements for interpreters,which has received extensive attention.This interpreting practice is a mock C-E simultaneous interpreting practice taking the guest speeches of the 2019 Financial Street Forum Annual Conference as the source language,which aims to understand the process of conference interpreting and better engage in interpreting activities.The author hopes that this practice can promote China's financial industry to some extent,especially can provide some help for the development of small-micro enterprises in Beijing.This conference proposed corresponding solutions and measures according to the problems in China's current economy,and provided guidance for China to better follow the trend of economic globalization,which has practical significance.The selected material of this paper has the characteristics of official language,professional content and broad topics as well as the fast speed of the speakers,which bring challenges to the interpreters.In the process of mock simultaneous interpreting,the interpreter encountered some difficulties,including redundant information,missing information and misinterpreting.Guided by syntactic linearity principle,the paper applied the lexical conversion technique to solve the problems in this practice,mainly from the perspective of conversion of Chinese nouns,verbs,adjectives and adverbs.This report comprehensively recorded the process of this mock C-E simultaneous interpreting.The author analyzed and summarized some typical cases in this practice,and explained the necessity of applying lexical conversion technique under the guidance of the principle of syntactic linearity,hoping to provide some help for future interpreting study.
