A Report On Escort Interpreting For Land Investigation In Shaya County Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region

From August 8 to August 12,2017,the writer of the report worked as an escort interpreter for land survey in Shaya County Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region conducted by Inner Mongolia Kaiyuan Technology Limited Company.The report is a detailed presentation of the land survey and work consultation(meeting head of the village and map planing).Difficulties and coping strategies are analyzed specifically based on interpreter's own practice in this report.In the report,the interpreter discusses the task,the pre-interpreting and interpreting implementation.The pre-interpreting and interpreting implementation are both divided into two parts with their own focus and purpose.Then some examples are selected and presented by further analysis from three perspectives:(1)Specific problems in the task,(2)Interpreting methods,and(3)The significance of an interpreter's qualification.Based on the case analysis,it is found that a perfect interpreting task can not be completed without full preparations.When coping with difficulties,for one thing,faced with the speaker Lorenzo with a strong accent,the interpreter should adapt himself or herself to the certain accent and find out rules of pronunciation as far as possible.For another,technical terms should be accumulated by daily learning and the interpreter can grasp the overall sense rather than be obsessed with individual unknown words.Besides,The interpreter's performance is usually associated with his or her qualifications so comprehensive quality as well as language competence are both required for an interpreter.
