A Report On The Escort Interpretation Practice Of Central China Liquor Market Research

The profound spirits culture of China infiltrated in the brilliant civilization of five thousand years.In recent years,the continuous improvement of people's living standard has largely driven the consumption of liquor products.Facing the intense competition in liquor market,a number of companies including some foreign enterprises have increased their efforts on the market research to get more information about the market,which provides more opportunities for escort interpreters.This practice report is based on the escort interpretation job undertaken by the author in central China liquor market research program from August 22 nd to 23 rd,2017.The author,as an escort interpreter,mainly did the interpretation work for a senior manager from Indonesia related to the sales,brewing techniques,fragrance and flavors of liquor products.The interpretation report falls into four parts.The first part is an introduction to the interpretation project,including an introduction to the background and characteristics of the interpretation work.The second part analyzes the implementation process of interpreting project which includes the preparatory work before interpreting,the process of interpreting as well as the quality control.In the third part,the author makes a thorough analysis of the difficulties encountered by the author in the interpretation process,including the four-character translation,short-term memory overload and time constraints caused by Chinese sentence redundancy,and how the author overcomes these difficulties under the guidance of Interpretive Theory and Domestication and Foreignization Theory.Finally,the author summarizes the interpretation practice,including the unsolved problems as well as some inspirations on the future work and study based on the report,with the hope to provide further help for future researchers on escort interpretation.
