Study On The Packaging Design Of The Xunxian Cooing-mud As Tourist Souvenir

Cooing-mud,generic term of traditional mud toys,which Rises in Xunxian,Henan since Sui Dynasty.Double holes are pierced in the body,generating sound like "cooing" when blow,that's how it was named.Xunxian,Henan is Town of Culture and Art,whose Cooing-mud was accepted as one of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2006.The annual Lunar Daytemple is peak season of Cooing-mud for the local artists as the small clay sculpture contains a strong folk traditional auspicious implication.And its function is constantly changing from children's mud toys(local people "play")in the old times into today gifts or souvenirs for friends and relatives.With the development and maturity of the travel tourist souvenir market,the consumers have more demands on the packaging design of Cooing-mud.Original simple packaging can't meet the requirements for Cooing-mud as tourist souveni for its lack of creativity,single form and not reflecting Cooing-mud's local characteristics,thus it is difficult to adapt to its market-oriented development trend.This article takes the packing design of Xunxian's Cooing-mud tourist souvenir as the research object.In this paper,methods of literature analysis,questionnaire investigation,On-the-spot visit investigation and practice research are adopted to exploring Cooing-mud's historical and cultural origins and artistic features,and to analyze its current situation of market and packaging,attempting to discover and summarize the deficiencies of the Cooing-mud packing,And try to discuss the improvement scheme of Cooing-mud packaging design.Respectively in this paper a design from the brand logo,material,appearance modelling on three aspects: visual design,show mud coo coo from local culture,highlighting the perspective of mud goo coo unique artistic characteristics,the existing set of mud coo coo travel packaging design to carry on the design concept,through the analysis of the modelling of mud goo coo,pattern,color,culture,etc.,to deduce the packaging design should reflect the elements of the characteristics and application methods,and constantly try to modify the design,make the mud goo coo travel companion hand packing can not only play the role of beautiful,protect goods,at the same time can help promote mud goo coo culture,driving the development of Xunxian tourism,enhance product value,so as to let Xunxian mud cuckoo have the survival of the soil,and not only just life exhibits in the museum.
