On Exploring The Message Delivering Strageties In Translation Of Political Texts

As time goes by,research on how to project China's image has sprung up.But how to project China's image and tell China's stories in an appropriate way deserves a deep thinking.Political texts translation,a window to understand China' realities,has gained more and more attention of scholars in both China and overseas.Unlike other types of texts,political context is more serious and informative in language style.It requires translators to think through the message beyond every word and the way to deliver messages.So when dealing with this kind of text,we need to pay close attention to the messages.As an English major student,I personally hold that we should think through the message we are going to deliver and always be mindful of the method we choose.Based on the translation of The Great Way of China,this thesis discusses messages that are enriched with Chinese characteristics,while proposing workable solutions to deliver these messages.This book not only covers political information with Chinese characteristics,but also cultural information with Chinese characteristics.Specifically,political information can be subdivided into general political concepts and information with Chinese characteristics in the context of the new era.Cultural information can be divided into idioms and poetries.Based on these differences,this thesis elaborates on how to deliver different messages under different strategies.Both the political information and the cultural information can been delivered with the principle of idiomatic translation,that is,referring to the mature translation and the expressions that foreign readers are already familiar with or adopt literal translation,free translation and omission.However,as the development of the translation industry is not mature enough,the work of Chinese political texts translation has yet to be unremittingly improved by the joint efforts of government,industry and translators.
