The entanglement of the singular and complex sentences in modern Chinese has always been a problem in the linguistics world. The basic question is whether Chinese can divide single-sentence sentences and what is the standard of division. In order to fully understand the difficulty of dividing Chinese sentences into single sentences, and to study the grammatical phenomena related to them, this paper divides sentences into typical single sentences, typical complex sentences and sentences with entanglements through corpus investigation, which will have entanglements. The sentences are divided into six categories: squeezing complex sentences, sentences in the form of complex sentences, sentences containing complex-finger phrases, sentences with omissions, and sentences for "for +" structures. The key research objects of this paper are those controversial in the division of single compound sentences, aiming to explore the common characteristics of such sentences and the reasons for the difficulty in dividing the single-sentence sentences. The study found that there are typical single sentences and typical complex sentences in Chinese sentences. At the same time, there are some sentences.According to the characteristics of traditional single-complex sentences, they are difficult to be simply classified into single sentences or complex sentences. We do not deny the existence of the singular compound sentence in Chinese, but we also have to admit the existence of the entanglement phenomenon. This paper studies the entanglement phenomenon from the following six aspects:The first part is the introduction, which introduces the research summary related to the single compound sentence and the research methods and research ideas of this paper. The second part summarizes the phenomenon of single compound sentences and the general division in Chinese sentences. It proves that there are typical single sentences and typical complex sentences in Chinese, and there are also sentences ofentanglement.Among them, the general division mainly depends on three points:whether there is speech pause inside the sentence, whether there are related words inside the sentence, and several sets of subject-predicate structures in the sentence. The third part is the main part of the thesis.According to the characteristics of the sentence, the sentences of the Chinese single complex sentence entanglement phenomenon are divided into five categories: the squeezing compound sentence, the sentence in the form of complex sentence, the sentence containing the complex phrase, and the sentence containing the ellipsis. The sentence "for the +" structure.Combining the specific sentences to analyze these entanglements, and discussing the causes of the entanglement of Chinese single complex sentences. The fourth part discusses eight methods of dividing Chinese single compound sentences, and points out their inadequacies in combination with specific sentences. We also classify these eight divisions from three different levels, and find that regardless of the angle,it is proved that there are cases of entanglement in the majority, thus further confirming that there is indeed a dispute between the Chinese and the plural. The fifth part summarizes the new theories and new attempts of linguists to solve the phenomenon of singular compound sentences, which provides us with reference for future Chinese language research.Combined with the attempts of linguists, they expounded their point of view, that is,requiring Chinese to attach importance to form like the West, and to pay attention to the clear distinction between single and compound sentences, which is not only impossible, but may not be necessary. The sixth part is the conclusion, summarizing the main contents of the paper, and presenting the shortcomings in the paper.
