Causes For Logic Mess In Interpretation Output In Chinese To English Consecutive Interpretation

Logic is vital in translation from Chinese to English,especially in Interpreting.The core of interpreting is logical thinking.Chinese is a language with less logical connective but focuses more on content connection.However,English focuses more on the structure of sentence.The logical differences are the challenge for interpretation from Chinese to English.Interpreters need to accurately grasp Chinese logic,and translate it in accurate and simple English.This article takes the logic chaos that appears in the simulation conference of the World Internet Conference press conference as an example.It analyzes the four aspects of logic chaos,including inappropriate use of coreference,miscellaneous information,abuse of logical conjunctions,and excessive use of lengthy and complex sentences.Possible solutions to the problems are proposed in the end.This article may bring some inspiration to related research.
