Practices indicate that game teaching is an effective teaching strategy which improves the teachers' teaching efficiency.As a globalized language,mastering English has become a basic requirement of social development in the 21 stcentury.Primary school is the critical period for children to learn English.The introduction of game teaching makes the English class full of vitality and improves the teaching quality of primary school English.But there are also many problems in the actual process.This article adopts the methods of questionnaire survey,interviews and classroom observation.Initially,20 classes were observed in the five primary schools of Mengcheng County,recording details of game teaching;Secondly,students were issued 270 questionnaires in 5 primary schools,264 were took back with the recovery rate of 97.77%.Thirdly,8 teachers are issued 7 questionnaires.Simultaneously which all questionnaires are recovered and both of them are effective.This study aimed at investigating the following five dimensions such as the level of understanding of teachers in game teaching,the usage rate,teacher's game types,the term for using purposes of teachers in game teaching and types of encouragement for participation of teachers,through which conclusions will be given to analyze the overall situation of game teaching for teachers.Research results: In general,primary school English teachers are very assured that games bring benefits to the English teaching.Games enable teachers to explain and impart knowledge and skills in an active atmosphere.In this environment,students can improve their interest in learning English,mastering knowledge points and improving their English expression ability.With the development of the new curriculum reform,more and more primary school English teachers have added game teaching into their classes,and the teaching effect has been significantly improved.However,there are still many problems in the process of game teaching: 1.Teachers are lack of game theory training,the game type is single;2.The rules of the game are unclear and the classroom discipline is chaotic;3.The funds and the teaching aids are insufficient.According to the above survey results,the following suggestions for improvement are put forward: 1.Follow the principles of game teaching and improvethe teacher's own ability;2.Develop and utilize student resources to effectively combine games with English knowledge;3.Reasonably optimize school education resources,utilize and develop game teaching resources.
