As a representative of spreading Chinese culture,the Confucius Institute is growing faster and faster around the world.There is a close relationship between language teaching and culturally conscious teaching.They are inseparable.As a representative institution of language teaching,the Confucius Institute should pay more attention to spread the Chinese culture in the process of teaching Chinese.This paper focuses on quatity research,applies the theory of “needs analysis” to the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,and studies the demand for Chinese culture by Chinese learners at the Confucius Institute at the Catholic University of Peru.The author hopes that this paper can provides some suggestions for improvement in the cultural class/activity held by the Confucius Institute,teacher's culturally conscious teaching and the curriculum used.This paper mainly uses questionnaires to collect learners' demand for Chinese culture.The content of the questionnaire is mainly based on Chinese cultural projects.On the basis of these data,the author also makes correlation analysis between the gender and the learners' needs for Chinese cultures.In addition to the analysis of the needs of learners,the author also analyzed the cultural awareness of the Confucius Institute teachers and the culturally responsive instruction methods used.It is hoped that teachers can understand the cultural factors in Chinese teaching and help teachers of different levels understand the needs for different learners.The needs provide a theoretical and data foundation for teachers to improve their cultural competence in teaching.On this basis,the author also likes to use this survey to provide a reference for the spread of Chinese culture of Confucius Institute.
