The C-E Translation Of Culture-loaded Words In Tourism Texts From The Perspective Of Skopos Theory

With the development of tourism,more and more foreign tourists travel to China.As a result,tourism texts become increasingly important.The English translation of culture-loaded words in tourism texts is a major focus and difficulty in the study of tourism translation.Doing a good job in the translation of culture-loaded words will play an important role in spreading the culture of China and Southern Fujian and promoting the development of regional tourism.Culture-loaded words are carriers of specific cultural information.Therefore,translators must adopt flexible means of translation in handling culture-loaded words to improve the quality of translation and convey accurate information to target language readers,and to achieve the purpose of translation.This thesis adopts the Skopos theory as its theoretical basis to analyze the C-E translation of culture-loaded words in tourism texts of Southern Fujian area.Based on the classification of culture by Eugene A.Nida,this thesis classifies culture-loaded words in the tourism texts of Southern Fujian and explores the strategies of culture-loaded words translation.The translation strategies include free translation,literal translation,literal translation with annotation,transliteration with annotation,amplification and omission,.The above research provides a new theoretical perspective and some appropriate translation strategies for the translation studies of culture-loaded words in tourism texts.This thesis not only verifies the directive function of Skopos theory on the culture-loaded words translation in tourism texts,but also enriches the research on the translation of culture-loaded words of Southern Fujian.What's more,it provides references for translating and studying relevant culture-loaded words.
