| This practice report is one about financial English translation of a banking industry annual report.In order to improve the quality of translation and provide corpus reference for introducing domestic and foreign financial knowledge and products,the author,taking Skopos theory as guidance and combining the characteristics of financial English language,analyzes the main problems in translation and proposes solutions in this thesis.The report is divided into five parts,in which the translation process are described in detail.The first part mainly introduces the background,significance and structure of the translation report.The second part is a literature review,which mainly introduces the research status of financial translation and introduces the Skopos theory and its practical significance for financial translation.The third part briefly describes the translation process,namely translation preparation,translation and quality control.And the preparation includes five aspects: knowing about the basic financial knowledge,mastering the features of financial English,studying the source text by contrasting with the parallel texts,analyzing the source and main content of translation materials,introducing the use of relevant translation aids in the translation and controlling the quality of the translated text.The fourth part is about the major problems in this translation and the solutions to them and.The typical problems encountered in translation are analyzed from the following five aspects: accuracy,consistency,language quality,genre and format,and then some appropriate translation methods are employed to meet the basic requirements of translating financial English texts.In the fifth part the author summarizes his findings and limitations in the practice;at the same time hopes that,in the future,he can strive to improve his ability in language,domain knowledge and research tools,so as to better engage in translating financial texts. |
