A Translation Report Of Limited Partnership Agreement Of Behring Capital Partner LP(A Delaware Limited Partnership)

With the development of globalization,agreements and contracts play an increasingly important role in legal activities.However,many legal texts are written in English,which is beyond the comprenhension of domestic companies.Therefore,the translation of such texts can provide necessary assistance to domestic companies.This report is based on the English to Chinese translation of Chapter III,IV and V of Limited Partnership Agreement of Behring Capital Partner LP(A Delaware Limited Partnership),which is mainly about the capital contributions,fee sharing and allocations of profits and losses between the general partner and the limited partner.This report can be divided into five chapters.Firstly,it introduces the background and translation requirements.Then,it explains the pre-translation preparation in terms of parallel texts and theoretical basis.Through introducing the Skopos theory,this report discusses how to apply this theory into the translation.In Chapter 3,features of the source text are analyzed from the lexical and syntactic levels.On the basis of these features,some difficulties have been discussed.Under the guidance of Skopos theory,translation methods,such as amplification,omission,inversion are discussed in Chapter 4.Finally,a brief summary is made in the hope that this report may be of any value for legal translation in the future.
