Information technology promotes the process of informatization development,it determines and affects the connotation of information technology.In the field of education,information technology changes the form of education and affects the way and quality of education.The ordinary high school English Curriculum standard(2017edition)requires the “the change of the teaching mode and the way of learning in the background of the modern information technology”,and also refers to the “making full use of information technology and promoting the deep integration of information technology and course teaching”.It is concluded that the application of information technology has become one of the main contents of English course teaching,and plays an important role in English course teaching.However,according to the literature and research,the deep application of information technology in English teaching is not optimistic.Therefore,it is more urgent and important to strengthen the research and discussion and practical exploration in this field.So,how should information technology be applied in English teaching in senior school? How about that ability of the application of information technology in the English subject of high school? How to improve ability of the application of information technology for English teachers in senior school? And so on,these are important problems that need to be paid attention to and solved.This paper is based on the learning theory of constructivism and TPACK teaching model,discussing the information technology and its application in combination with the current research situation at home and abroad.In this study,the author randomly sampled 54 senior school English teachers from 3 senior schools in G city of XX county(district)as the object of study.Using qualitative and quantitative research methods,questionnaires and interviews are used as main research tools.Focusing on the actual performance of the subjects in the five dimensions of information technology literacy,planning and preparation,organization and management,evaluation and diagnosis,and learning and development,to investigate and interview the application status of English teachers information technology systematically and comprehensively.Through the collection and collation of the data,the present situation is compared,analyzed and discussed.It is found that there are still some main problems in the application of information technology in senior school English teachers,such as the weak awarenessof the application of information technology,the lack of individualized teaching of English by using information technology,and the lack of autonomous English learning by using information technology to train students and so on.On the basis of the research and discussion of the literature,the successful experience of other people can be learned and absorbed,and the practical demand of the English course teaching is effectively combined,and some reasonable suggestions on how to use the information technology to promote the English course teaching and the students’ learning are put forward.
