For information technology and English teaching integration in rural middle schools,information technology is considered not only as tools for assisting teaching and learning,but also cognitive and emotional motivation tools for promoting students' self-directed learning.Provided learning methods and environment by information technology about independent exploration,collaborative learning,multiple interactions and resources sharing,initiative and motivation for rural middle school students could be stimulated.Thus,their innovative thoughts,practical abilities,English learning and utilization abilities could be developed.At present,there are many domestic and foreign researches about integration of information technology and English teaching.However,integration strategies which are specific,operable and aiming at classroom teaching and learning for rural areas need further study.In view of above problems,the main work of this thesis is as followings:(1)Current situation analysis as basis for integration strategies raising.Through teacher and student questionnaire in Hong'an No.3 Middle School in Huanggang City of Hubei Province,statistical results show some problems.According to author's teaching experience and classroom observations,some phenomena that need improvement and promotion are observed during information technology and English teaching integration in the same school.(2)Integration strategies raising.Based on existing problems during the integration of information technology and English teaching,some specific principles are proposed aiming at classroom teaching and learning.Subsequently,guided by the principles,teachers-leading and student-centered integration strategies are raised and clarified based on Constructive Learning Theory and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge(TPACK).As main special purpose for English teaching is to help students develop listening,speaking,reading,watching and writing skills,the following practical methods explain how to apply integration strategies into classroom teaching and learning.(3)Effectiveness validation of integration strategies.Integration strategies are used in daily teaching and learning.Three comparative experiments are conducted to validate effectiveness of strategies evaluated by comparing and analyzing classroom observations,learning contents tests and examination results.From the aspects of overall performance,learning interest and initiative and collaborative learning,the author compares and analyzes detailed learning situation of experimental and control class by qualitative and quantitative methods to validate the effectiveness of integration strategies.The innovative points of this thesis are as followings:(1)Theoretical innovative points: learning from excellent domestic and foreign research methods and perspectives of information technology and curriculum integration,beneficial researches and explores are carried out to study integration strategies for information technology and English teaching in aforementioned school through questionnaire surveys,classroom observations and comparative experiment based on TPACK and Constructive Learning Theory.It can be concluded that raised integration strategies are suitable for the actual English teaching and learning situation in the same school.(2)Practical innovative points: English teachers in above mentioned school could improve TPACK level and integration teaching capabilities by applying and revising strategies raised in this thesis.Consequently,traditional classroom teaching and learning model could be changed which means teachers can lead to classroom teaching integration and students could fully construct knowledge actively,proactively and creatively to achieve a better internalization and externalization of knowledge.(3)Social benefits points: validated strategies can be applied in rural middle school teaching to help narrow education gap between rural and developed areas schools and to accelerate balanced development of top quality education.Further study of thesis consists of two aspects.First,strategies and methods raised in this thesis can be applied to rural middle school teaching in the same area and even other areas to enrich and improve the strategies.Second,further integration studies will be carried out like latest information technology and English teaching integration about MOOC,micro-courses,electronic backpacks,wisdom classroom in rural middle school.
