Compared with 3D printing,4D printing will further lead the third industrial revolution initiated by 3D printing, and will actually revolutionize the manufacturing industry, which will definitely have a profound impact on the future economic development and energy model. As the first work in the global 4D printing field, the book 4D Printing Changing The Future Business Ecosystem not only shows the self-adjustment and deformation ability of printing objects to the world, but also opens a new chapter of printing as a turning point in the manufacturing of everything. This book not only introduces the extraordinary frontier of science and technology, but also injects the gene of creativity into the future life of human beings. At the same time, this book also starts from legal risks and crises, intellectual property rights and other aspects, raises the ethical and moral issues brought about by the development of science and technology, which is especially worthy of attention and thinking. The selected scientific and technical texts are professional in wording, strong in information and commun ication, rigorous in logic, moderate in sen tence length and easy to understand.Eugene Nida is a famous linguist, translator and translation theorist in the United States. His functional equivalence theory is particularly suitable for the study of scientific text translation.Based on this, this thesis attempts at the application of functional equivalence theory in guiding the C-E translation of scientific texts. This thesis explores the problems caused by translating long sentences, passive voice and nominalization in the book from the perspective of functional equivalence theory, and proposes the corresponding translation strategies and methods. The first part of this thesis is the introduction of the background information of the topic and the text as well as the presentation of the significance and purpose of translation;the second part is about the process of translation and the main steps of the translation process;the third part elaborates the functional equivalence theory;the fourth part is the main body of this thesis, mainly analyzing some problems the author encounters and discussing their solutions;the last part is a summary of the translation experience,in which the author presents the gains and the limitations of this translation, and puts forward suggestions for the future translation and research,This thesis aims to explore more specific and suitable translation methods through the synthesis and analysis of the English translation methods of scientific texts,so as to farther solve the problems leading to difficult understanding and translation of scientific texts, thus contributing a little to the exchanges and development of science and technology between China and foreign countries.
