Study On Mencius’ "People Being The Most Important" Thought

Mencius’ theory is the representative view of the people-oriented judge in the history of Chinese thought.This idea comes from the development of the concept of god,which has gradually been replaced by the concept of humanism since Shang and Zhou Dynasty,and the development of the thought of the people in the early period.It is also influenced by the concept of Confucius’ view of nature and man.Mencius said that "the people are precious" is closely related to the historical background of the warring states period,he traveled around the many states to witness the sufferings of many people,this is also one of the reasons for the formation and development of Mencius’ thought of "the people are precious".Mencius said that "the people are precious",not an empty slogan,but at the same time put forward specific measures of benevolent governance.Mencius’ people-oriented thought can be regarded as a clear political ideology.Mencius’ idea of "the people are precious" is based on the theory of heaven,saint and the people.This paper intends to trace the concept of heaven and the people,in particular,it pays attention to the study of Confucius related thoughts,In order to explore the source of Mencius’ people-oriented thoughts.Based on the background of the times and the experience of Mencius traveling the states,this paper discusses the process of the formation and development of the people-oriented thought of Mencius.Then according to the core of Mencius’ theory of mind and human nature,analyze the essence of Mencius’ "the people are precious" thought.The essence of Mencius’ people-oriented thought is based on the theory of mind and the concept of heaven and human,combine the heaven,saint and the people,morality is the bond,the core of the theory that man is an integral part of nature in people-oriented thought.
