Textbook is an important guarantee for the smooth progress of the teaching Chinese as a foreign language.It has a great influence on the learning effect of the learners and the teaching quality of the teachers.Malaysia use its own Chinese books as its main teaching materials,among which the series of teaching materials Basic Mandarin are widely used.This paper takes Basic Mandarin I as the research object,and makes a comprehensive analysis and evaluation from the compilation style,content elements and other aspects of teaching materials,and on this basis,puts forward targeted suggestions for the compilation of localized teaching materials,aiming to provide some ideas for the compilation of country-specific primary Chinese teaching materials.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the research subject is divided into four parts:The first chapter describes the current compilation of country-specific teaching materials,and analyzes the use of localization-based Chinese teaching materials in Malaysia and University Utara Malaysia,the curriculum based on public elective courses,the combination of Malaysian Chinese teachers and volunteers of Chinese teachers,the diversity of learner types and learning motivation.The second chapter is the part of teaching material analysis,which makes a systematic analysis of Basic Mandarin I from the aspects of development background,compilation style,teaching material elements,exercise design and so on.The teaching materials are arranged in a single class system,the text length is moderate,bilingual annotation vocabulary,and the exercise types are varied.Overall,it conforms to the teaching objectives of the primary comprehensive Chinese course and the learners' cognitive level.It is a set of Chinese teaching materials with perfect system and strong pertinence.The third chapter is the textbook evaluation part,which lists the standards of textbook evaluation,draws lessons from Professor Zhao Jinming's textbook evaluation scale,and combines the textbook with the actual situation of students in University Utara Malaysia to develop a targeted evaluation scale.At the same time,facing the teaching object,the author made a questionnaire on the use of teaching materials,statistically analyzed the students' satisfaction with the teaching materials and other relevant data,and on this basis,summarized the advantages and aspects to be improved in the compilation of Basic Mandarin I.The fourth chapter is the suggestion part of the textbook compilation,which mainly puts forward suggestions from the aspects of style design and content elements according to the evaluation conclusion of the textbook.The article points out the optimization strategies such as the establishment of mutual evaluation mechanism,the enrichment of text types,the analysis of example sentences in vocabulary notes,the gradient distribution of exercises and so on.
