With the promotion of the “One Belt and One Road” initiative and“China-Pakistan Economic Corridor”,the demand for Chinese language learning in Pakistan has been unprecedentedly high.Due to the rapid development of business and economy and the conditions of the learners themselves,conventional Chinese can no longer meet the needs of learners.Therefore,business Chinese came into being.This paper takes the Confucius Institute at Karachi University in Pakistan as the research subject.Through the analysis of the questionnaire survey results of business Chinese students and teachers,this paper studies the current situation of business Chinese teaching in Confucius Institute at Karachi University,analyzes the problems,and proposes solutions in combination with the teaching theory of Chinese as a foreign language.The paper consists of three parts: introduction,body and conclusion.The body part is divided into four chapters.The first chapter introduces the basic situation of Chinese teaching in Pakistan.It briefly introduces four Confucius Institutes in Pakistan and two Confucius Classrooms,focusing on the Confucius Institute at Karachi University.The second chapter introduces the concept of business Chinese,the system construction,the trend of business Chinese globalization and the basic outline of business Chinese in Confucius Institute at Karachi University,including the reasons for the opening of business Chinese,the choice of business Chinese textbooks,business Chinese teachers and students,business Chinese class size and curriculum.The third chapter is the key point,mainly to conduct the questionnaire research according to the teaching situation of business Chinese in Confucius Institute at Karachi University,and systematically analyze and compare all the questionnaires.The fourth chapter is based on the analysis of the third chapter,which summarizes theproblems arising from the business Chinese in Confucius Institute at Karachi University and proposes relative suggestions.The problems mainly include business Chinese teachers' unprofessional knowledge,limited time for learners' study,deficiencies in business Chinese textbook,incomplete curriculum as well as the lack of practical opportunities for business Chinese students.And the paper also proposed some suggestions,such as enhance the academic standards and teaching abilities of business Chinese teachers and promote communication of experience,strengthen student classroom management rules and regulations,improve the business Chinese curriculum and teaching material system and so on.
