A Study On The Expression Of Causality In Compound Words

In this paper,more than 69,000 entries in the "Modern Chinese Dictionary" are used as the source of the corpus,and 686 causal compound words are used as the object of study,and the detailed description,analysis and comparison are carried out.The paper is divided into five chapters.In the first chapter,Introduction.It mainly elaborates on why the study of causal compound words and what the study intends to,and then define the object of the study of the article,and then discusses research status of compound words,deficiencies and what need to improve.Finally,the chapter introduce research methods and corpus sources.In the second chapter,the causal compound words are described mainly from the structure type and the semantic mechanism.First,the causal compound words are divided into two categories:reason-result type and result-reason type,and then the structure type and semantic mechanism are described in detail according to the part of speech,the structure of words,the nature of morpheme and so on.In the third chapter,we mainly discuss the causal compound words from the semantic layer to the formal layer,that is,the process of semantic lamination,on the basis of the full description of the causal compound words.It clarifies that the process conforms to cognitive law.And then from the process of the study of causal compound morpheme tendency choice and morpheme highlights(weakened)phenomenon,and finally that causal compound words with economic ideals,self-contained system into the sentence function.The fourth chapter,it mainly compares the causal compound words and the causal complex sentences.First,examine the relationship between the causal order,the structure,the causal elements,and then examine the differences in the causal arrangement,the structure,the causal elements,and the tone.The fifth chapter,it focuses on the conclusions of the article and the need for further study.Through the above five aspects of the discussion,the article argues that causal compound words as an effective compound word,compared with other semantic types of compound words have their own characteristics,manifested in the structure type,semantic mechanism,component lamination,morpheme selection,pragmatic Function and so on.At the same time,causal compound words and the other causal language units,especially the causal complex sentence,there are some links and more differences.
