This is a report on Chinese-English consecutive interpretation practice.Consecutive interpreting is a common form of interpreting which consists of three phases:information input,memory and production.The material is an interview from the "Dialogue"of CCTV2-Observation Of the Chinese Economy From 2006 to 2016.The author conducted Chinese-English consecutive interpretation and made a record.After finishing the transcript of the source material and the interpreting,the author wrote this report.After classifying difficulties encountered in the practice,the author analyzed cases from the text and then came up with corresponding interpreting strategies.The interview material used in interpretation is characterized by colloquialism,and contains some economic jargons.The moderator and five guests discussed the trend of investment,consumption and other economic behaviors in ten years from 2006 to 2016.The author found difficulties encountered in interpreting can be divided into four categories:No subject sentence;Redundancy;Run-on sentence;Unclear logic of sentence.The author put forward corresponding interpretation strategies for these four difficult points and analyzed them by examples.The author applied several interpretation strategies,such as omission,addition,sentence cutting,order changing and sentence reconstruction.The purpose of this interpretation practice is to summarize the experience of this practical and effective interpretation strategies to solve the problems in real interpretation,so as to improve the speed and the quality of interpretation.
