Different students will show different learning behaviors in the process of learning Chinese.The object of this study is Chinese learners of Mae Fah Luang University.This study adopts questionnaire survey,classroom observation,interviews and other research methods to investigate Thai college students'Chinese learning behaviors in traditional classroom teaching mode.In the questionnaire survey part,the questionnaires were developed based on the LBS scale and the actual situation firstly,then were distributed to students in two ways.Collecting questionnaires on the spot in my own class to guarantee recovery rate,and posting online links on Facebook in other teacher's class.In the classroom observation part,the observation includes students' learning behaviors and teacher's teaching behaviors,not only observe that what learning behaviors do students have,but also observe that whether teachers' teaching content and teaching method have an effect on the learning behaviors.In the interview part,understanding students' subjective feelings though the interview for students,analyzing the reasons of certain learning behaviors specifically,and asking students to make suggestions on the Chinese class.This will help to improve the teaching of Chinese according to the needs of students.In addition,self-evaluation of students will be supplemented through the interview for teachers to make interview results more objective and comprehensive.Through analyzing of the questionnaire survey,classroom observations and interviews,we can get following conclusions:(1)The motivation of Thai college students to learn Chinese is diverse,and the external motivation is the main one.(2)Thai college students have a serious attitude towards learning Chinese,but the attitude mostly derive from fear and avoidance of punishment.(3)The attention of Thai college students is concentrated,but the duration is limited,and the negative behaviors related to the wander are common.(4)Thai college students lack of initiative in Chinese learning behaviors,the strategies of them are mainly passive listening and taking notes.(5)The Chinese learning behaviors of Thai college students will be influenced by students'own factors.(6)The Chinese learning behaviors of Thai college students will be influenced by their teacher and collegeAccording to conclusions of this study,combing with the practical situation of Chinese teaching in Thailand,some suggestions can be put forward to provide some help for the future study of Chinese teaching in Thailand and Chinese learning behaviors.At the end of this paper,there is a reflection on the limitations of this study.
