Research Of "Repetition" In Printmaking

As one of the basic attributes of prints,"plurality" refers to the repeated printing of a certain amount of works.Therefore,people usually understand the "repetition" of prints as "plurality",which naturally stays in the cognition of number.However,throughout the whole process of engraving creation,we can find that the "repetition" of engraving is not only limited to the number concept on the surface,but also reflected in many aspects such as creative thinking and expression form.Therefore,redefining the connotation of "repetition" in printmaking and deeply analyzing the extensive application of "repetition" in printmaking will not only help expand people's original cognition of "repetition" in printmaking,but also promote the long-term development of printmaking art in a sense.Based on the author's understanding of creative practice and a large number of relevant literature,this paper focuses on the application of "repetition" in print creation and its significance.First,the concept of "repetition" is analyzed,based on the re-interpretation of the meaning of "repetition" in the context of printmaking art.Then,based on the relevant historical materials and instructional materials of printmaking,the application of "repetition" in printmaking is illustrated from four aspects of printing quantity,image reproduction,artistic expression forms,and steps and behaviors of printmaking.Then it emphasizes the author's thinking on the application of "repetition" in the process of printmaking practice,and realizes that the application of repetition in printmaking should stick to the "root" of printmaking.At the end of the paper,the author proves that "repetition" is of great significance in the creation of prints from three aspects: improving the author's professional skills,expanding the creative thinking of prints,and deepening the intuitive impression of the works on the audience.The thesis mainly focuses on the author's preliminary investigation,problems and thoughts in the process of creation.The purpose is to systematically summarize the application and effect of "repetition" in printmaking from the overall point of printmaking,in the hope of expanding the original understanding of "repetition" in printmaking and providing theoretical basis and practical experience for printmaking.
