With the deepening of Chinese and foreign food culture exchanges,Western food is gradually entering Chinese's daily diet.In this case,the importance of cookbook translation has become increasingly important while Chinese are willing to explore the evolvement of the western food.The original text A Poetical Cook-Book by Maria J.Moss is published in 1760 s.differing from traditional cookbook,it employs prose and poetries,drawing a picture of tranquility.To translate it successfully,translation aesthetic theory plays a vital role in the process.This thesis is mainly guided by the basic framework of Liu Miqing's aesthetic translation theory,and completes the translation practice of the English translation of A Poetical CookBook.It contains the general description of the whole project including background,information,the significance and purpose of this report and the structure of the report.The second part is literature review,it introduces the domestic and international researches on translation aesthetic theory.The third part focuses on the translation process,it involves the guiding theory and the aesthetic features of the source text.The fourth part is the cases study,the fifth part is assessment,it contains self-assessment,assessment from the supervisor and assessment from client.The last part is the conclusion.
