With the development of the global economy and the rise of China's financial industry, people are gradually focusing on financial markets such as stocks, futures, and foreign exchange. It is universally acknowledged that the stock market originated in the West and has a history of more than 400 years, while it has taken less than 30 years for China's stock market to develop and has achieved tremendous results. In the past, people used to get information about the international financial market by translating foreign books on financial filed, but today there are a lot of Chinese translation studies on financial texts. However, few studies on the English translations of domestic financial texts have been done. Therefore, the study of C-E translation of Chinese financial texts can expand the exchange between China's financial industry and international finance. At the same time, foreign investors can get a better understanding of China's financial market by reading translations of financial books. What's more, the C-E translation of Chinese financial texts has important guiding significance and the reference value. This thesis is a Chinese-English translation practice report. The author composes her translation report based on her translation of Sections 1.6,1.7,and 1.8 of Chapter 1 in The Theory of Market Representation wrote by a Chinese financial scholar Xiao Qingcan. The book covers stock, futures and foreign exchange markets. It belongs to the field of financial English and mathematics. This book is a collection of the writer's scientific research achievements for more than twenty years. The method of combining theory and demonstration is used to verify that the representation theory is an effective predictor in the stock market. In this era of national stock speculation, the book can serve as a trigger. This report, based on Skopos Theory which is the core of German functionalist translation theory, explores the translation strategies and difficulties in translation practice. The theory is used to guide the translation of financial texts, which can make the translation more consistent with the expression habits of the target language, without losing the information that the book wants to convey. The main contents of the report include an introduction, translation process, case analysis, evaluation, and conclusion. The translator first introduces the translation task and its significance and then elaborates the translation process, including the query of relevant background information before translation, the specific translation process in translation andthe review of the draft translation after translation. The third chapter of this report is a case study, which mainly involves three aspects: one is the introduction of terminology;the other is the translation of vocabulary;the third is the translation of sentences. In addition, the translator tries to grasp the essence of the original text and choose the appropriate translation strategies and methods so as to make the translation more acceptable to readers and more in line with the expressive habits, cultural characteristics and language norms of the target language.
