A Translation Report On The Plantation Silviculture In Europe(Chapter 13-15)

This paper is an English-Chinese translation report taken from Plantation Silviculture in Europe,a technical text written in the form of literature.This scientific book is very informative and its translation into Chinese is of great significance to the popularization of forest-related knowledge among the Chinese readers.Using the book Plantation Silviculture in Europe as a case study,this paper analyzes and summarizes the language features and expressions of the source text.In order to meet the needs of the client and comply with the reading habits of the target-language readers,we take advantage of several translation methods by following a main translation principle.Techniques about the translation of professional terms,long and difficult sentences and paragraphs are discussed,and finally a conclusion of the strategies in translating forestry science texts is made in this report.With the completion of the translation of this forestry science text,we hope that this program will fulfill its realistic function as we have expected,and act as a reference for forestry cultivation methods and strategies in the future.
