Under “the Belt and Road” initiative,economic,social and cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world have deepened.In this context,North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power actively participated in and integrated into the country's foreign exchanges and cooperation in the field of education,and became one of the member universities of the “BRICS Network University”.The original material used in this E-C translation practice report is selected from Higher Education in the BRICS Countries:Investigating the Pact between Higher Education and Society.The translated text mainly introduces the interrelationship between the development of higher education and society in the BRICS countries.By translating the practical materials,we hope to deepen our understanding of higher education in the BRICS countries and promote our university to enjoy more in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the field of higher education.This report uses Skopos theory as the guiding theory,combining with the problems encountered by the translator in the translation process and their solutions,and summarizes the basic translation process of texts in educational style.This translation report is divided into four parts.The first chapter introduces the translation tasks,describing the background of the translation project and the importance of the translation project.The second chapter introduces the translation process,including pre-translation preparation,translation process and post-translation proofreading.The third chapter is a case study,which is also the core part of this report.Guided by Skopos theory,this paper makes a comparative analysis of the original text and the translation of the cases.The fourth chapter makes a summary of the practical report and the translation experience accumulated in the process of translation,and reflects on the problems and shortcomings in practice,hoping to provide references for the translation of educational texts.
