A Report On Translating Wang Meng's Essays On Learning And Culture(?)

The materials for this translation report are excerpts from Wang Meng's Essays on Learning and Culture,namely,the first section of A Preliminary Discussion on the Culture of Socialism in Its Primary Stage and the second section of An Analogical Study of Some Expressions in Chinese.These two sections both show Wang Meng's understanding and reflection of Chinese culture.This report is divided into five parts.The first part gives an introduction to the task;the second part is process description;the third part describes Ress's text typology theory;the fourth part is the case analysis of translation practice under the guidance of the translation theory,which mainly ensures the process of Chinese-English translation from the three standards,including accuracy,completeness and logic,and conducts a detailed study on the translation from the lexical,syntactic and textual levels.The last part is an summary of the problems encountered in the process of translation practice to be considered and solved.This translation practice proves that in translating informative and expressive texts,text typology theory can play a good role in improving the translation quality.
