The content of translation project is selected from the chapter 2 to chapter 5 of Crowd-Powered Mobile Computing and Smart Things, which was published by Springer in 2017.There are seven chapters in this book. The author explores the growing trends of computer technology from a scientific perspective based on the current technology, such as big data,Internet of Things, cloud computing, crowdsourcing and sharing. The report develops into four parts: introduction, translation preparations, translation theory and difficulty analysis, and conclusion.According to Peter Newmark's text typology, this text is classified into informative function text in the technical field. In order to ensure that the characteristics of the original text are fully reflected in the translation and improve the readability of the translation, the translator translates the text under the guidance of Peter Newmark's communicative translation theory, hoping readers understand the original text and trying to make the target readers feel the same as the source readers after reading.Firstly, the translator analyzes the source text from three aspects: lexical level, sentence level, and discourse level. In the lexical level, the terms are mostly compound words. In the sentence level, passives and long sentences are frequently used in the text.In the discourse level, the logic of the text is strict and the structure is complete.Secondly,in the report, the translator combines the theory with practical methods, and analyzes difficulties with cases, such as passives, long and complex sentences, and terms and compound words.Thirdly, the translator has gained some experience through the practice of the whole project, hoping to provide references for the translators engaged in scientific and technical translation.
