The junior high school students are in the early stage of adolescence,experiencing a series of psychological and physiological changes brought about by adolescence.In the process of individual self-differentiation and development,the junior high school stage is a very crucial period.The level of self-differentiation of individuals is that they are independent of the family and separate from the family members,and the ability to distinguish between emotions and reason at the inner level.The development of self-differentiation level plays a vital role for junior high school students in dealing with their own physical and mental and environmental changes,interpersonal communication,emotional regulation,etc.It is directly related to their mental health and benign development of mind and body.This study used the "Self-differentiation Scale" as a measurement tool to understand the basic characteristics of junior high school students' self-differentiation,and designed a psychological education course based on Bowen's self-differentiation theory with the theme of "self-differentiation".Then,using the natural experiment method,using the experimental group and the comparison group before and after the design pattern,four natural classes were randomly selected as the research objects in Changsha Beiya Middle School.Among them,two classes served as experimental groups,and ten psychological education classes on the theme of “self-differentiation”were set up;two classes served as the control group,and ten classes were simultaneously set up to meet the psychological development characteristics of the first-year students(all the first-year students were unified)Psychological education class.Finally,the comparison between the experimental group and the comparison group was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the psychological education class to promote the selfdifferentiation of junior high school students.Research indicates:(1)The level of self-differentiation of junior high school students has significant grade differences.There is no significant difference in theinfluence of gender,the status of only children and the status of their parents' education on their self-differentiation.(2)The mental health education course with the theme of “selfdifferentiation” can promote the self-differentiation of junior high school students.The results of the intervention study also show that the psychological education class that improves the self-differentiation level of junior high school students has certain effectiveness.
