| Under the background of omnimedia era,the traditional newspaper industry is facing the severe test of media transformation and integration development.At the same time,with the increasing frequency of international communication,news translation has also played an increasingly important role in intercultural communication.As a form of secondary information transmission,by translating English news into Chinese,English-Chinese news translation can help Chinese readers understand international information more quickly and accurately.This report is based on the author's three-month internship experience in Guangzhou Daily(from July 2018 to October 2018).In this report,the author elaborately introduces the background of the internship platform of Guangzhou Daily,the characteristics of the job as well as the trans-editor's responsibilities.At the same time,on the basis of the contextual adaptation theory put forward by Verschueren,the author analyzes the influence of four different contexts(linguistic context,situational context,cultural context and news genre context)on news trans-editing.In the description of the whole news trans-editing process,the author focuses on the analysis of the problems encountered due to the influence of contextual factors,namely time pressure,selecting and editing information,lack of cultural background knowledge and lack of news communication skills.In order to cope with these problems,the author puts forward that translators should adapt to linguistic context: adding emotional attitude words,interrogative sentences and reconstruction;and adapt to situational context: adding background information,evaluation of different viewpoints and deleting redundant information;and adapt to cultural context: trans-editing from the readers' point of view and using vague language;and adapt to news genre context:following the structure and format of news discourse.In addition,besides that,theauthor also points out that the news styles,types and communication channels may also have an impact on news trans-editing.Through this internship,firstly,the author hopes to improve translation skills and accumulate practical experience in English-Chinese news trans-editing;Secondly,by reviewing and summarizing the findings of this internship,from the perspective of contextual adaptation theory,the author summarizes the corresponding strategies to solve the problems in the process of English-Chinese news trans-editing.It is hoped that this report can provide some references for the MTI students who are dedicated to news trans-editing work.Finally,the author points out that with the advent of the omnimedia era,the influence of media transformation and integration development also cannot be ignored,especially for English-Chinese news trans-editing. |
