The early Chinese Communist Party leaders' literary thought is a sine qua non of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics.Reflections on its essence and development is the only way to foster cultural self-confidence and a national culture.Informed by Marxist literary theory in terms of world outlook and methodology and taking into account Chine's specific climate, early Chinese Communist Party leaders normally have become someone in literature.Individually or collectively, their literary thoughts are inherently logical, groundbreaking, and pioneering.Meanwhile, those early Chinese Communists also experienced an identity shift, culturally or ideologically. While accepting and upholding Marxist literary thoughts, inevitably they were susceptible to haunting Western "isms" and Chinese "traditions".It is thus necessary and possible to carry out a synchronic and diachronic study on early Chinese Communist Party leaders' literary thoughts.Hopefully such an endeavor will help avoid unilateral interception or narrow cognition and deepen our comprehension of that system. This article takes Chen Duxiu,Li Dazhao and Qu Qiubai as the object of investigation, and discusses the early Chinese Communist Leaders 'literary thoughts from the following five perspectives:1.The context of the three Chinese Communist Party leaders' literarythoughts and the reasons for the early literary views.Early Chinese Communist Party leaders' acceptance, interpretation and popularization of Marxist literary thoughts is theoretically biased and value-oriented,and behind its unique life arc there are many interwoven factors. This chapter first divides the aforementioned three ' s thoughts into three stages:contact stage, early stage and later stage. Then it examines macroscopically the main factors impacting the formation and transformation of a literary thought with a core of Marxism. Finally, the differences between the three leaders' early stage literary thoughts are briefly described and their causes are comprehensively analyzed subjectively and objectively.2.The literary and social views of the early Chinese Communists.Their early literary and social views focused on then society and gravitated towards reflecting and affecting the society. This chapter analyzes its thoughts through the lens of "the literary and social views in science perspective" and "the literary and social views under Marx's materialism".A mentality shift from the former to the latter gradually enriches Marxism.3.The literary views of early Chinese Communist Party leaders and their attitudes towards the mass.China was forced to move into a modern society, and the contradiction between people, people, and class was sharp."Human" became the theoretical focus of the early ChineseCommunist Party leaders. This chapter examines the relationship between literature and people from the perspectives of civilians under humanitarianism and the germination of literary and popularization, revealing their class considerations of being "civilian" and "popular".4.Early Chinese Communist Party leaders' thoughts on the main body and ontology of literature. As enlightened literati, early Chinese Communist Party leaders explored not only the external functions of literature but also the aesthetic characteristics of literature. This chapter consists of two sections: literary subject content and literary ontology. In terms of contents, literature is the expression of subjective emotions where the beauty of literary personality abounds.Meanwhile, they proposed that literature is independent of other categories such as history and put forward the idea of socialist literature informed by Marxism.5.Early Chinese Communist Party leaders' literature and cultural criticism.Any reform of a reality inevitably should retrospect the past and base itself on the present. The three leaders attacked traditional theories in various forms, participated in cultural debates, and then promoted Marxist literary thoughts. This chapter supplements the early Chinese Communist Party leaders ' literary thoughts from the perspectives of traditional ideological connotation critique, literary debate and literary trend of thought. The first one was to discard the old and discover the new.The three panned "Lao Zhuang Nihilism" and "Confucian ethics",suggesting that Confucianism is unsuitable for life then.Secondly, they participated in literary debates, judged the Eastern cultural faction, expanded the influence of scientific socialism, made clear the boundary between Marxism,Capitalism, and non-scientific socialism, and further promoted the development of Chinese Marxist literary thought.
