In recent years,as China's interactions with the world grow, exchanges in science and technology have gradually deepened. In this context, more and more popular science works have been introduced into China, and the importance of popular science translation has become increasingly obvious. Therefore, the translator decided to select the Chapter 1 from the book Ancient Babylonian Medicine: Theory and Practice,a typical work of popular science, for her translation project. In the process of translation, the translator discovered two major features of the source text: scientificity, required by the text nature to dissimilate correct knowledge;and popularity,to attract readers' interests and make the knowledge easily accessible to them.To reproduce these two major features, the translator referred to Newmark's translation theory and summarized two principles for popular science translation: principle of accuracy, and principle of actualizing popularity based on the scientificity. And a great focus has been put on various translation skills and techniques to reproduce these two features. The translator has several findings and gains a lot through this translation practice.Even there are some limitations in the report, the translator hopes it could provide some references for the future practitioners of popular science translation.
