A Practice Report On E-C Translation Of Huanqiu Current News From The Perspective Of Eco-translatology

This paper,based on Hu Gengshen's Eco-translatology theory and the author's E-C translation practice project of Huanqiu current news,analyzes the difficulties encountered in the process.Then corresponding tactics are proposed according to “three-dimensional” transformations of Eco-translatology theory to solve the difficulties.According to the “three-dimensional” transformations,translation difficulties can be summarized into three aspects of linguistic dimension,cultural dimension and communicative dimension,which are specifically as follows:(1)linguistic dimension: translationese caused by complex sentences;(2)cultural dimension: cultural default and culture-loaded words;and(3)communicative dimension: redundant information and logical confusion.Under the guidance of the principle of “three-dimensional” transformations,corresponding tactics such as transformation,addition,domestication,omission and reconstruction are provided to deal with the difficulties.Follow-up works show that these tactics do help create better translated texts with less errors and better readability which are adaptive to a translation eco-environment.This study shows that the eco-translatology theory can be used to guide translation practice of current news.The author hopes that this paper could provide reference for MTI news translation teaching and translation practice.
