Objectives:To understand the current situation of sleep quality and anxiety of female prisoners in the early period of prison, and to explore the correlation between them;To explore the effect of cognitive behavioral therapy combined with music relaxation training on sleep quality and anxiety of female prisoners in the initial period of imprisonment. Methods:The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)and the Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)were used to evaluate the status of female prisoners in the initial period of incarceration, and 46 female prisoners with poor sleep quality were selected for experimental research. The 46 prisoners were sorted by Pittsburgh sleep quality index score from high to low,and then divided into an experimental group and a control group based on an odd-even score. Each group had 23 prisoners. The experimental group was given Cognitive behavioral therapy combined with interventions in music relaxation training once a week for 8 times while the control group members only performed sleep hygiene education. Before and after the intervention, both of groups were tested on PSQI and SAS,The data were processed by statistical software SPSS.18.0.The results of pre-test and post-test data were compared between the two groups, and the intervention effect was evaluated.Results:(1)There was a significant correlation between the PSQI scores of female prisoners and their SAS(P<0.01).(2)At the beginning of the period of incarceration, female prisoners have higher levels of anxiety than ordinary people in China;(3)Before the intervention, the scores of PSQI and SAS in the experimental group were higher than those after the intervention, with significant differences(P<0.01),and there was no significant difference in the control group between post-test and the pre-test scores.(P >0.05);(4)The post-test scores of PSQI and SAS in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:(1)The sleep quality of female prisoners in the initial period of incarceration is worse than that of domestic average adults(with PSQI>7 as the reference threshold),and they had higher levels of anxiety than ordinary people.(2)Cognitive behavioral therapy combined with music relaxation training can improve the sleep quality of female prisoners in the initial period of imprisonment and alleviate their anxiety.
