The use of computer-aided translation(CAT)tools has become an inevitable trend in the language industry nowadays. What CAT tools have to offer for the users primarily include translation memory(TM),term base(TB),machine translation(MT),and quality assurance(QA).This paper attempts to examine the differences between machine QA and human QA by analyzing two cases that involve translation from Chinese to English, and eventually gets to the conclusion that the combined use of machine and human QA might be the optimal solution in terms of both effectiveness and timeliness. |
