The foundation of the current world economic recovery is unstable,and the deglobalization trends have emerged.As China continues to rise abruptly,the world is paying close attention to us.China follows the trend of the times and proposes the “Belt and Road Initiative” strategy,aiming at achieving win-win cooperation and common prosperity with other countries;As a major channel for business and cultural exchanges between the East and the West,the Silk Road has a profound impact on the cooperation between Asia and Europe from ancient times to the present,making the civilized dialogue in Eurasian space smoother in the 21 st century.A travel biography written by the famous former CCTV host Wang Zhi,was favored by readers and attracted wide attention from the society and media after the publication of New Silk Road in My Way.The author selects parts 7-12 of this book as the practical material.Based on the fact that there is no English translation of the source text,this paper carries on the practice and thinking of translating and combining with the needs of the times,aiming at spreading Chinese culture and building a bridge between Asian and European civilizations through this translation practice.In this practical report,the author searches the relevant domain knowledge through the preparation stage,analyzes the content of the article and the language characteristics of the original text through the collection of vocabulary and reading several related parallel texts.Afterwards,the difficulties encountered in the process of translation are analyzed in combination with specific cases,mainly including the semantic issues,key words and phrases,four-character words and the translation of verses appearing in the text;The author chooses Skopos Theory as the theoretical support and focuses on the application of coherence rule in translation exploration,and summarizes the application of the translation methods,such as sentence restructuring and part of speech conversion,negation translation,amplification and omission strategies;And understands that the expression habits of long sentences in Chinese and short sentences in English are emphasized.In the last part,the author makes clear the content and guiding significance of Skopos Theory,it is hoped that this report can improve the writer's translation ability and provide reference for others.
