A Report On Exhibition Interpretation In The Light Of The Framework Of Conceptualizing Interpreting As Communicative Mediation

This report is based on the author's experience as an interpreter at 2019 the 14^th China?Jinan?International Solar Utilization Convention&Exhibition.Under the guidance of Wang Binhua's analytical framework of conceptualizing interpreting as communicative mediation,the author helped four foreign guests from different countries communicate with Chinese exhibitors,and the interpreting task was successfully completed.Due to its complexity and purpose of communication,exhibition interpretation requires strong communicative mediation ability of interpreters.But there are few studies on exhibition interpreters'role of communicative mediation.Wang Binhua's analytical framework of conceptualizing interpreting as communicative mediation focuses on interpreter's communicative mediation role,which provides a new perspective for the research of interpreting.Using his framework as a guide,the author carried out an exhibition interpretation practice,and achieved good results.Through case analysis,she demonstrates the applicability and guiding significance of the framework for exhibition interpretation.Her practice also enriches the framework back.The author hopes to broaden the research horizon on exhibition interpretation and the communicative mediation ability through the thesis,and that interpreters can understand the significance of this ability to exhibition interpretation and can consciously strengthen this ability in interpreting teaching and self-training in future.
