This practice report is based on the author's own interpreting experience with a focus on studying pre-interpreting preparations as well as exploring the causes and solutions to the mistakes made during the interpretation practice. With the interpretive theory as theoretical framework, this report uses the transcripts of the author's own interpreting tasks as materials for analysis. It is found that the pre-interpreting preparations can be divided into long-term preparations and short-term preparations, and the interpreter should conduct different kinds of preparation work respectively.Besides, four factors including preconception, lack of topic-relevant knowledge, poor vocabulary and incoherent expression play roles in making errors. And the solutions contain six aspects:being focus on the speaker, target languages abiding by the original languages, enriching the vocabulary, studying topic-relevant knowledge, enhancing the fluency of both mother tongue and target languages and to know about the context of the tasks. It is hoped that the report should provide insights and references for interpreting practices and studies.
