Chinese food culture is not only an important part of China's excellent traditional culture,but also occupies a unique position in Chinese traditional culture,which has a profound impact on Chinese vocabulary and expression.This article takes the food culture teaching in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language as the research object,and the research content includes the characteristics of the Chinese food culture.According to predecessors' views,the characteristics of Chinese food culture are as follows:same source of medicine and food,profound health concept,wide range of dietary materials,diverse cooking methods,obvious regional characteristics,and close connection with festivals and life etiquette.Chinese phonetic homonyms,vocabulary groups,colloquialisms,and many communicative phrases are closely related to Chinese food culture.Food culture is introduced in the textbooks,notes,exercises,and reading after class.From this we analyzed the use of dietary culture in teaching Chinese language elements to foreigners,that is,the use of dietary culture in teaching Chinese phonetics,vocabulary and Chinese characters to foreigners.Based on the investigation of the performance characteristics of Chinese food culture,combining the presentation of food culture in various parts of Chinese teaching materials for foreigners,and the teaching practice of language elements of food culture,targeted suggestions on food culture teaching for teaching Chinese as a foreign language are given.The basic methods of food culture teaching in teaching include the comparison of Chinese and foreign food cultures,multimedia-assisted teaching,performance culture teaching,scene discussion method,and special lecture method.The second is the issues that foreign language teachers should pay attention to in the teaching of food culture.This includes improving the mastery of food-related culture for Chinese language teachers,establishing the concept of cross-cultural communication,avoiding ethnocentrism and cultural superiority,paying attention to the physiological acceptance of students and the age of food culture.Finally,a detailed design of the food culture teaching case "Rising into the Country" is provided for the reference of relevant food culture teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
