A Study In The Inheritance And Development Of Huangmei Xi At Eastern Hubei Province In The New Era

At present,our country is in the decisive stage of building a moderately prosperous society proposed in all respects,meanwhile the key issue and difficutlty of which lies in the rural areas.As a part of building a moderately prosperous society proposed in all respects,the new village construction of socialism has achieved productiveness,prosperousness,cleanness,democrative-government but spiritual civilization,which means as the improvement of material life,the spiritual life of the rural areas should follow up.So,it is a top priority for the new village construction of socialism to enrich people's the cultural life in rural areas.Huangmeixi,bearing a long history and colorful cultural features,is an important branch of Chinese traditional opera and a medium of inheriting and promoting the Chinese traditional culture.In order to promote the popularity of the traditional opera,the State Council made an announcement of policies of supporting traditional opera's inheritance and development to emphazise its significance.The east part of Hubei Province has a long history of Huangmeixi culture,as a result,the region has a highlight in spreading and inheriting Huangmeixi under the background of the new village construction and enriching people's spiritual life.Therefore,this thesis will explore the inheritance of the Huangmeixi in eastern part of Hubei province from the perspective of cultural construction of new villages.Taking the local opera--Huangmeixi of the eastern Hubei--as an example,the author firstly investigates the background,sums up the published resutlts by scholars home and abroad,makes clear the research aims and significance and illustrates the basic concepts and related theory.Secondly,site-visiting investigation,literature and data collection are adopted in the research process of Huangmeixi's the status,problems,chances and challenges,the local government's role,the performance of Huangmeixi's artists,and relationship between Huangmeixi itself and the development of the society and the people.The author finds out that:1.the development of Huangmeixi,at a large extent,relies on the national policies and its popularity is from the help by the local government.2.It is a priority factor of the inheritance to ensure skillful artists.But under the impact of pop song culture's invasion,the professional Huangmeixi artists are less than before,which is a serious problem of its development in the eastern Hubei.3.It is highly recommended that the development of Huangmeixi should absorb the advantages of other art forms,innovate and modify its content and expressions at the pace of the social development so as to introduce it into the daily lives of the people and inherit by generations.4.Finally,the author suggest that a Huangmeixi social organization should be established,as an important step in the new village construction of socialism,in rural areas in order to make up the time except the Spring Festival when Huangmeixi's troop usually perform in the village,and to improve the atomosphere of Huangmeixi culture in rural areas and to make it a namecard of the new village of socialism in eastern Hubei.
