The one-on-one distance Chinese learning mode is welcomed by many Chinese learners for its convenience and flexibility.It has played an important role in solving the problems of students' dispersion and uneven distribution of teaching resources.However,one-on-one distance Chinese teaching has many limitations,such as limited interaction and communication between the teacher and the student,many teaching activities cannot be carried out and the class lacks interest.Based on the Chinese teaching model of the Confucius Institute of the University of Kansas,combined with some teaching theories,this paper makes one-on-one distance Chinese teaching designs for the adult and the middle school student with different Chinese levels.And on this basis,carry out teaching practice.The teaching suggestions are presented according to the evaluation of teaching effect and one-on-one distance Chinese teaching experience.Hopefully,these suggestions can minimize the negative impact of this teaching method on students and provide experience for other teachers engaged in one-on-one distance Chinese teaching.For the above content,this paper can be divided into the following parts:The first chapter is the introduction.This part collates and analyzes the definitions,advantages,and limitations of one-on-one Chinese teaching,distance Chinese teaching and one-on-one distance Chinese teaching,and expounds the research background,significance,research content and methods of this paper.The second chapter makes a preliminary analysis of the one-on-one distance Chinese teaching of Confucius Institute of the University of Kansas,including the teaching objects,teaching content setting,teaching environment and the teachers,and then summarizes and analyzes the problems existing in the one-on-one distance Chinese teaching of the Confucius Institute of the University of Kansas through interviewing with other teachers of the Confucius Institute.The third chapter makes one-on-one distance Chinese teaching designs for an adult and a middle school student separately.It elaborates on six aspects:unit plan/curriculum plan,teaching objects,teaching objectives,teaching content,lesson plan designs and explanation,teaching feedback and reflection.The forth chapter evaluates the teaching designs based on the students' classroom performance and the questionnaires distributed after class,and gives some suggestions for future one-on-one distance Chinese teaching.The last chapter is a brief summary of this paper.The end of this chapter also points out the shortcomings of this paper and the direction of future efforts.
