With the improvement of linguistics and second language teaching theory,a new method appeared in teaching Chinese as a foreign language-the functional approach,This method is based on function,it divides Chinese into different function items,such as suggestion,negation,description,order,criticism,farewell,etc.This method starts from the actual needs of the learner and chooses the appropriate language situation for communicative exercises.Functional approach focuses on the cooperation between language and situation,communicating parties and topics,it aims to improve students'oral communication skills.After the introduction of the functional approach in China,a lot of syllabus on functional items appeared in academia.According to the functional item table in the"Syllabus for the Elementary Stage of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language",this article selects the "discontent" function item that expresses subjective feelings as the research object,and combines it with the theory of teaching Chinese as a foreign language function items.The thesis has four main parts:The first part is the introduction,including the current research status of functional Chinese teaching for foreigners,organize scholars'related articles on "discontent" functional items,and puts forward the research content,research methods,and research significance of this article.The second part is the main content of this article,reorganize the expression of "discontent" function items into four topics,focusing on the examination of form,semantics and pragmatic,next summarize the rules of use,analyze the errors of foreign students in the context of the situation,and propose specific teaching suggestions.The third part summarizes the expressions of"discontent" in different levels,and compares the four topics with the politeness principle.The fourth part is the conclusion,summarizes the content of the thesis and puts forward the shortcomings,hoping to provide some reference and help for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
