On the basis of a large number of sentences in which the expression lai zhe(simplified Chinese:??)appears,this study investigates international students' acquisition of lai zhe at Nanchang University.In addition to contrastive study,this paper also performs induction and deduction,combines description with interpretation,and follows the form-function principle to examine the expression lai zhe from multiple perspectives.First of all,this paper analyzes the part of speech of lai zhe and holds that it is an auxiliary word of mood.Furthermore,this paper explores the syntactic environment of lai zhe: lai zhe is mostly used at the end of a sentence and may be used in the middle of a sentence;lai zhe collocates with zhe,le,and guo(respective simplified Chinese: ?, ?,and ?);lai zhe can be used in conjunction with modal particles;lai zhe doesn't coexist with reduplication of verbs in a sentence;lai zhe can coexist with negative forms of verbs;lai zhe can be used in declarative sentences,exclamatory sentences,and interrogative sentences.This paper summarizes various pragmatic functions of lai zhe.In addition,this paper makes suggestions about the teaching of lai zhe in spoken Chinese classes where Chinese is a foreign language,provides amendments and supplements to the basic meanings of lai zhe in existing textbooks,and designs an integral teaching process for lai zhe sentences.
