A Report On The E-C Translation Of I-Fort Operation Manual From The Perspective Of Functional Translation Theory

This is a report on the E-C translation of I-Fort Operation Manual,mainly introducing the textual characteristics of the expository writing.It focuses on the analysis and research of the vocabulary and sentences in this operation manual,and also summarizes the translation strategies and methods.Under the guidance of functional translation theory,the translation has gone through three stages,namely: preparation,translation process,and proofreading after translation.The operation manual belongs to the style of science and technology writings,which is characterized by professional words,clear logic and strong operability.Although the English operation manual and Chinese operation manual share the common features and functions,due to different cultural backgrounds and ways of thinking,there are also differences in the way of expression.Considering that the users of the manual are Chinese,the entire translation process is driven by the target language context,and based on the principle of purpose,coherence and fidelity.After the completion of the translation task,the report reviews and summarizes this translation experience to guide future translation practices.
