A Report On C-E Translation Of Operation Manual Of CPR Manikin Medical Training Models

This translation report is based on C-E translation of operation manual of medical training models.By analyzing words,expressions and sentences in this operation manual,and combining the theory of text typology,the author illustrates translation strategies and techniques about this kind with many typical examples translated by the author.Part one states the background of this report,introduces literature review,and briefly analyzes the structure of this report.Part two describes the translation process,mainly pre-translation preparation,stage of translation and proofreading.Part three explores the linguistic characteristics of the source from three aspects of diction,sentences and passage,and proves translation principles of operation manual of medical training model.Part four solves the problems from two aspects by analyzing examples cited from the translation materials of source text,and explores the appropriate translation strategies.In part five,the author summarizes the findings and shortcomings of this translation practice to improve the quality of translation.Through illustrated difficulties of words,expressions and sentences and the case analysis,the author proves the translation strategies and techniques.In terms of vocabularies,communicative translation or literal translation is adopted.With regard to sentences,many techniques are elaborated,such as conversion,inversion,amplification and division,so as to meet the principles of faithfulness and acceptability.
