With the rapid development of economic globalization,the internationalization of higher education has become one of the core concepts in the world.At present,international students exchanges are increasing in the whole world.Our country also strives to improve the quality of the international influence of higher education.While,one of the criteria to evaluate the level of internationalization development of a school is the number of international students.What's more,reading the International Student Handbook is also one of the evaluation methods.Because that the aspect of the Handbook is comprehensive,and it not only reflects whether the education of international students is standardized or not,but also reflect the school's management philosophy.Although there are lots of English translation of the Handbooks which translated by colleges and universities in China,there are few studies on the translation of the handbook from Chinese to English.Sanquan Medical College is an independent college approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.The study of the Chinese-English translation of the handbook not only standardize the management of international students in the college but also provides some reference for the English translation of Handbook of other colleges.This report is guided by the Eugene Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory.Based on the translation practice of International Student Handbook of Sanquan Medical College,the author further explores the skills and strategies about regulations translation.The report is divided into four parts: The first chapter mainly introduces the background of this translation practice.The second chapter introduces mostly the process of translation and the problems encountered.The third chapter analyzes in detail the cases faced in translation practice.It focuses on four aspects: the equivalence of lexical,sentence,passage and stylistic,which analyze and explain the corresponding solutions and translation skills.Chapter four,through the summary analysis of this translation practice,the author tries to find out the limitations of this translation practice and summarize some applicable translation skills and the strategies for international student regulations.So as to guide the author's translation activities in the future.Hopefully,it will provide some useful references for others who are engaged in international students management.
